Tele-density Rises to
82-89% at end-February
2016

The number of telephone sub­scribers in India increased 1051-88 million at the end of February 2016. The urban subscription increased to 608-42 million at the end of February 2016. Whereas the rural subscription increased to 443-46 million.

The overall Tele-density in India slightly increased to 82-89 at the end of February 2016. The Urban Tele­density increased 153-93 at the end of February 2016. The Rural Tele-den­sity increased to 50-76 at the end of February 2016. The share of urban subscribers and rural subscribers at the end of February 2016 was 57-84% and 42-16% respectively.
